Clare Norman

Parent & Child Wellbeing Coach & Reflexologist

Clare is a parent and child wellbeing coach and reflexologist and has been working therapeutically with families for many years, specialising in the challenging circumstances and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working holistically using a combination of coaching and reflexology she can treat various symptoms and help to alleviate stress for both adults and children.

Clare trained in London with the Bayly School of Reflexology in 2004, is a member of the British Reflexology Association (BRA) and the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She is also a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Working holistically with parents, children, or young adults on an individual basis she provides a unique combination of coaching and reflexology to ensure optimal wellbeing – her approach has proved very successful.

Reflexology treats the whole body, focusing on both underlying causes and physical symptoms. It induces a very deep state of relaxation and is a preventative measure to avoid the physical manifestation of stress and anxiety. As a complimentary therapy it can work alongside medication and supports the individual to return to optimal health.

Coaching empowers people to find their own solutions to challenges. It is forward thinking and focuses on identifying mindsets, beliefs, behaviours, or habits that may not be working and then taking the necessary positive steps to resolve the difficulties. Coaching and Reflexology work very well together and compliment each other.

Clare starts with an initial consultation with the parent(s) where concerns are discussed and a unique program of care can be created accordingly. In some circumstances coaching may be required to identify the specific areas that need to be addressed and clarify what support is best suited to the family. Different options and packages can be created that could involve: coaching any member of the family, and possibly supporting the work with reflexology. If reflexology is offered a full medical history is taken.

After the initial consultations, Clare can recommend different options including

Coaching for Parents
Shift mindset and perspectives around challenges of day-to-day life and managing difficult circumstances. Make choices that are more akin to the direction you want to take in life.

Coaching & Reflexology for Parents
The addition of reflexology creates a truly holistic approach to support not only the mental and emotional but also physical manifestation of stress.

Reflexology for Children with Difficulties or SEND, coupled with Coaching for Parents
For children reflexology is wonderful and non-invasive. Children and adolescents respond fast and in the case of a child with various challenges coupled with coaching the parent it can be truly life changing for the entire family. Clare has seen good results working with children with ADHD and their families, ASD and various other diagnoses and emotional difficulties.

Coaching with Siblings or SEND Adolescents
Clare can coach young adults directly and has worked with a range of young people with diagnoses such as ADHD. She also works with siblings of children with special needs as they are often impacted very strongly and coaching for them can be also be hugely beneficial, working on issues such as resentment, self-esteem and anger.

Parent & Child Reflexology & Coaching Consultation Package
This involves a longer session with Clare to discuss specific medical issues and symptoms and parents concerns. The focus of the work is on empowering the parent with specific knowledge of Reflexology points to work on with their own child. A full medical consultation for the child is taken, a full reflexology session given by Clare and a home program of reflexology developed according to specific symptoms. Diagrams are also provided. Practising Reflexology on your own child can shift the dynamic and relationship as well as support a child with symptoms related to anxiety, sleep, constipation, and overall relaxation. The parent is also coached throughout the session, which can provide further insights, and subsequent coaching sessions may then be offered. Often parents are facing their own emotional challenges and putting personal wellbeing to one side.
