Dr Wafaa is a licensed GMC Gynaecologist with over 25 years of medical practice and experience and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FFSRH). Additionally, Dr Wafaa is a qualified Psychosexual Therapist (Sex Therapist), and Relationship Psychotherapist and with ten years of practise experience.
On top of her medical work Dr Wafaa has been leading the Psychosexual Clinic at her NHS trust in London for the past 10 years, consulting with clients, both individuals and couples, from diverse backgrounds of cultural, religious and ethnic groups with a variety of sexual and relationship difficulties. She also worked for the Relate Institute for 7 years.
She is an accredited member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), British Society of Sexual Medicine (BSSM), and International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) and Middle East Society of Sexual Medicine (MESSM).
Dr Wafaa had specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Egypt and worked in Saudi Arabia for 10 years. She then moved to the UK 15 years ago where she specialised in Sexual and Reproductive Health. As a medical doctor, Dr Wafaa is able to clinically examine both men and women and treat associated medical problems that may be contributing significantly to the sexual and relationship difficulties.
She is trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Systemic, and Psychodynamic approaches. Her main focus is on facilitating change in her clients’ lives by adopting a psycho-socio-biomedical approach, which includes clinical examinations and prescribing medications when needed. As a bilingual English and Arabic speaker, she can provide a culturally sensitive, confidential, non-judgemental service in both languages. Over the years, Dr Wafaa has cultivated a deep commitment to best practice in both therapy and medicine.

Dr Wafaa works with both couples and individuals from the age of 16 on an open–ended basis or short-term basis.

Sex anxiety, including non-consummation

Sexual abuse trauma and domestic violence

Provides advice and treatment for complex contraception and STIs.
Additionally, Dr Wafaa was trained in Coaching and Mentoring since 2008 and has been coaching doctors in all specialties. She helps doctors with their career choices and progression and their personal lives through empowering them to use their own internal resources. As an Executive Coach, Dr Wafaa integrates therapy and coaching techniques to help her clients be aware of their negative automatic thoughts and beliefs and help coachees see alternative solutions for their problems.
