Issues/Problems of Specialisation
Dr Pazera offers psychological assessment and therapy tailored to each individual client, while she draws on the most recent research and evidence-based practice to most effectively address each clients’ unique preferences and goals. She has been trained in a number of therapy approaches, but the main ones she uses are Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Systemic Approaches. She also uses elements of Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness in her work.

She tends to use Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Approach as the base into which she incorporates other techniques. CAT is understood to be helpful in cases when people find themselves repeatedly in the same place, or making the same mistake, or feeling particularly stuck, or even when other models/treatments had not worked. CAT helps to understand the repeated patterns in people’s lives and focuses on changing them.
